Our Lady of Fatima Giveaway

The history of the Catholic Church is full of a number of Marian apparitions. Our Lady would appear to a particular group of people to share messages that encouraged people to turn to God and grow closer to him. These messages are still important today, and it is important to find ways to share them.

Deo Gratias has started doing this with their beautiful graphic novels.

This year, they are trying to print Our Lady of Guadalupe novels, but they need your support. Even if you can’t support theirĀ Kickstarter, you can help by sharing information about it with your friends.

And to thank you for helping spread the word, we are running a giveaway where you could win some awesome Our Lady of Fatima products!

If you enter the giveaway at the end of this post, you could win:

  • A cool idea! I do want to share our experience with graphic novels as a genre though so other parents can be aware of the vigilance required within it. My kids started getting into these first with Geronimo Stilton books (mouse detective, historical settings, not high art but okay). Then my nine year wanted to get a Hardy Boys graphic novel from the library. I previewed it before letting him have it and am SO glad i didn’t just hand it to him. Just awful depiction of girls, in anime-esque [lack of] clothing. Digging a little deeper and connecting some dots, my husband and i saw that graphic novels are often styled after anime/manga, and a lot of things in that genre are pornographic. We witnessed the anime/manga porn progression with a relative on my husband’s side, and read later that these cartoony Japanese shows and books are not actually meant for kids at all. I’m not saying there’s anything inherently wrong with graphic novels, just to be aware of the prevalence within the genre of things that lead down an undesirable path and to keep an eye on things if your kid wants to check out other graphic novels. Hope this makes sense. Sorry to be a bummer but I’d like to save others from that kind of unpleasant surprise.

    • Hi TJ,

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sure other parents who read this will appreciate the heads-up about the genre!

I hope you still entered the giveaway because I think this particular graphic novel is a great and wholesome project!

      God bless!

  • Very cute! Looks like a cool book!
